Iranian short ‘The Hands’ to vie in Bangladesh

Iran’s ‘The Hands’ is to vie at the 4th Sylhet Film Festival in Bangladesh.

Iranian short title ‘The Hands’ has been selected to compete at the 4th edition of the Sylhet Film Festival in Bangladesh.

Directed by Parviz Rajaee, the short title is about determinism and free will.

A synopsis for the film reads “Some are in stillness to be formed by a hand, and others try to form”.

‘The Hands’ received the best short film award at the winter season (January-March) of the World Premiere Film Awards in the US.

The Sylhet festival is an annual event that showcases full-length features, shorts and experimental films.

The event aims to provide a platform for the youth to showcase their works and talents.

The event includes workshops and is an opportunity to screen, discuss and exhibit films.

This edition of the Sylhet festival is to be held online on June 17-19.

There are speculations that the festival may be postponed due to coronavirus pandemic.
